Badminton: Meet every Wednesday 2pm. For details contact Mandy Smith at DownderrryandSeatonVillage Hall

Bread and Babes Play group for bumps, babes, toddlers and pre-schoolers. We bake, we play, we do craft, we eat.

9:30am – 11:30pm, term-time, every Thursday at The Zone, Methodist Church. Main Road Downderry. PL11 3JZ .£3.50 for first child and .50p extra for any further children which includes snack bread (homemade) and toppings, tea/coffee & craft materials. Enjoy some quality time with your 0 – 4 year olds in a structured yet nurturing environment and join in with: baking, crafts, imaginative play, gardening and making new friends

The ethos of the group very much remains with the community at heart. We provide a safe, fun and engaging group every week. The children we currently enrol have been born and lived through COVID which as we know has had an effect on a large number of children’s mental health. We have been able to help support families and their children by providing fun activities and a social environment to help with their social integration and development. As well as having a strong connection with our local school, St Nicolas C of E Primary which we try to engage with on a regular basis

Do get in touch if you would like to know more.

DEVIOCK ACTIVITIES GROUP

We currently have 3 spaces for cooptions on our Committee. We are particularly interested in recruiting volunteers to support the development of activities

  • for children & their parents during school holidays
  • for adults-we are open to all ideas!

Volunteers would receive the full support of the organisation & would have the added impetus of working alongside the Zone Steering Group in its quest to gain community ownership as a Health & Well Being Hub.

Committee meetings are held 3/4 times a year.

If you wish to have more information & a chance to talk about your possible involvement please contact me on parkerviv@aol.com.

The churches in the St Germans and Deviock parishes would like to draw attention to their Pastoral Team. We are a group trained by the Diocese of Truro to offer good listening and responsible friendship to anyone at all within the parishes. We know how challenging the situation we are all facing is and how stressful it can be. We may not be able to offer any solutions but we can LISTEN and are bound to treat anything told to us in confidence. We are all fully CRB checked and have undergone safeguarding training as well. If you feel you would like to talk to someone please phone our designated mobile phone number. 07979515100 and be prepared to leave a short message with your phone number. A member of the Pastoral Team will get back to you as soon as possible. The phone is regularly checked throughout the day for messages if it has not been answered when you call. D&SWI meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month in The Zone, Main Rd, Downderry 2pm- 4pm. We have speakers on a variety of topics, ranging from historical talks to current issues on the environment. We usually have tea and biscuits and occasionally there will be cake, and the opportunity to have a chat. More formal notices are provided by a Newsletter that is sent out in advance of the meeting and members are asked if they have any questions about its contents. We also have other events - keep an eye on The Nut Tree where there is more information about upcoming activities.

In addition to the monthly Members meeting every 2nd Tuesday of the month:
Craft group – meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2.00 p.m. and is open to non-members. At this we will usually present a specific craft for you to try, but you are also very welcome to bring along your favourite craft project. Many of the members have specific craft skills and will be able to help you with what you want to do. Most importantly, it is another opportunity to socialise.
